EMF Safety
The Four Pillars of a Healthy Immune System
Atlas Misalignment: The Vagus Nerve Connection
- Memory loss and Dementia
- Leaking of the Blood Brain Barrier
- Headaches, Migraines and Dizziness
- Insomnia and other Sleep Disorders
- Infections and Cancer
- Hormonal Imbalance, Infertility and Miscarriage– Electrical stimulation was a well known facilitator of abortion in 19th century medical literature.
- Depression and Anxiety– Both have increased 66% since the first iPhone came out in 2010!)
- Metabolic Disorder, Heart Disease and Diabetes:
EMF radiation may disrupt how the body metabolizes carbohydrates and fats, potentially contributing to conditions such as Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease. Historical trends, as noted in The Invisible Rainbow, suggest a correlation between the rise of electricity use and increased rates of these diseases. EMFs may also trigger mitochondrial stress, prompting an immune response that leads to inflammation, greater disease susceptibility, and emotional anxiety. While healthy lifestyle habits like proper nutrition, exercise, and stress reduction can help manage EMF-related symptoms, minimizing exposure remains the most effective approach.
Our mitochondria sense EMFs as an environmental danger and release an immune reaction of inflammatory cytokines and endotoxins. This immune response causes internal stress and increases our susceptibility to contracting acute and chronic disease, and experiencing anxiety on an emotional level.
Any lifestyle change that reduces stressors (nutrition, exercise, environment and chiropractic care) can be helpful in coping with EMF related symptoms, but nothing replaces the removal of the exposure itself:
The Four Pillars of a Healthy Immune System
1. Nutrition
Keep your body in balance by eating whole foods, staying hydrated, and avoiding processed sugars. A balanced pH supports enzyme function, helping your immune system stay strong and resilient.
2. Meditation & Sleep
Deep sleep and mindfulness reduce stress hormones and activate the body’s natural repair state. Rest and relaxation boost immune efficiency and speed up recovery.
3. Exercise & Sunlight
Gentle outdoor movement increases oxygen and Vitamin D levels—both essential for immune strength. Regular exercise lowers stress and supports a balanced nervous system.
4. Chiropractic Care
Proper spinal alignment improves nerve communication and immune response. Chiropractic adjustments help restore the nervous system’s ability to protect and heal the body naturally.
Hidden EMF Risks Inside Modern Homes
1. Phones
Keep your phone in Airplane Mode when not in use or while sleeping.
Turn off WiFi, Bluetooth, and Hotspot—and recheck that they stay off.
Use speakerphone or a corded headset instead of holding the phone to your head.
Store your phone away from your body and use EMF protection pouches or Faraday sleeves when possible.
Prefer corded landlines over cordless or mobile calls; cordless phones also emit microwave signals.
Use Ethernet adapters and shielded cables for wired internet connections at home.
When traveling, use WiFi away from routers rather than mobile data, and print maps or download directions in advance.
Remember: Distance is your best defense—every inch away from your device reduces exposure intensity.
2. On The Body
AirPods & Earbuds
Wireless earbuds and AirPods transmit radiation directly into the ear and brain. Whenever possible, avoid using them. If you must use headphones, choose EMF-shielded wired options and only when your phone is in Airplane Mode with wireless settings off. Otherwise, use Speakerphone to keep distance between your body and the device.
Smart Watches
Smartwatches continuously emit EMF signals while connected. Limit use, turn off Bluetooth or data whenever possible, and consider going without one for optimal protection.
Computers, Laptops & Tablets
Always disable WiFi and Bluetooth on your devices and use a wired Ethernet connection for internet access. Avoid placing devices directly on your lap or body—even with wireless functions off, small emissions can persist. Some newer models don’t fully disable wireless features, so check with an EMF meter. You can request wired-only systems from computer shops to minimize exposure.
Wireless Accessories
Wireless chargers, mice, and keyboards add unnecessary EMF load to your environment. Choose wired alternatives to keep your workspace safer and more stable.
3. Buy an EMF Reader!
- Since EMFs are invisible, using an EMF reader or meter is essential for detecting and managing exposure. The TriField TF2 is a recommended model for accurate measurement. Users should focus on the “peak” reading for a more stable indication of exposure, as the main number fluctuates. While no universal safety standards exist, general guidelines suggest keeping levels below 3mG (magnetic), 50 V/m (electric), and 0.200 mW/m² (RF average) to minimize potential health risks.
For accurate EMF readings, always rotate your meter to face the source directly—side-by-side placement with a phone or router can miss signals and underestimate exposure. Many EMF sources, like phones and WiFi routers, pulse intermittently, so hold the meter steady to capture the peak signal. The TriField TF2 also detects “dirty electricity” from wired sources, which shows up as steadier readings. Other reliable EMF meters include the Acousticom 2, Safe and Sound Pro, Cornet ED88T Plus, and AlphaLabs UHS2, as recommended by Dr. Mercola in EMFD*.
4. Routers and Modems
Most modern homes use a wireless router-modem combo, which acts like a small in-home cell tower, constantly emitting strong microwave signals. With over 86% of U.S. households using WiFi, routers are among the most powerful EMF sources indoors—especially newer 5G-enabled models.
Choose Fiber-Optic Internet when possible for a low-EMF connection.
Wire your router to a switch and use shielded Ethernet cables to connect devices.
Disable 4G/5G wireless functions on your router (contact your provider or a local technician).
If the router continues to pulse even after disabling wireless, cover it with metal shielding or a RouterGuard cage (blocks up to ~89% of emissions).
Place routers away from bedrooms—the garage is ideal—and use an outlet timer to power them down at night.
Regularly check with an EMF meter after system updates, since routers may automatically re-enable wireless signals.
Consider providing RouterGuards for neighbors or workplaces to reduce surrounding “electrosmog.”
5. Bedrooms and Living Rooms
- Baby Monitors
Both WiFi and radio-frequency baby monitors emit strong EMF signals that may impact developing brains and nervous systems. Since their frequencies are often too high for most meters to measure, it’s difficult to determine which type is safer. If your monitor includes an Ethernet port, you can test it with a meter for signal-free use. When possible, avoid electronic monitors altogether and simply stay within earshot of your baby. - Smart TVs, Gaming Consoles & Smart Home Devices
Modern electronics like Smart TVs, Apple TV, Roku, Echo, Alexa, Google Home, and Bluetooth speakers constantly emit wireless radiation—even when idle. Wire devices via Ethernet or auxiliary cables whenever possible, and verify with an EMF meter that wireless functions are fully off. If signals persist, use metal shielding (mesh, toolboxes, or cages) for added protection. Consider replacing Smart TVs with large, wired computer monitors for safer entertainment. Avoid antennas, which also emit radiation, and use fiber-optic cable service instead. - Gaming Controllers
Use wired controllers only when connected to plugged-in consoles. Some controllers continue to emit radio frequencies—even when turned off or unplugged—so test them with a meter. Store controllers in metal containers or stacked metal cups when not in use, and keep them out of bedrooms to minimize nighttime exposure.
6. On The House
- Smart Meters
Smart Meters, now in roughly 75% of U.S. homes, emit high-frequency wireless signals similar to routers and produce Dirty Electricity, which can increase both EMF exposure and electricity costs by 10–30%. Homeowners can opt out by requesting an analog meter, often for a small monthly fee. Removing Smart Meters can improve health, lower costs, and reduce risks like fires, explosions, and grid hacking vulnerabilities. - Satellite Dishes
Avoid satellite dishes near bedrooms. Even unused dishes can emit EMFs. Opt for wired cable or wired streaming options for safer home entertainment. - Security Systems
Only use security systems that can be fully wired. Verify wireless signals are disabled and check exposure levels with an EMF meter before installation. - Solar Panels
Check EMF levels around solar panel inverters and command modules using a meter. Install panels away from living and sleeping areas, and consider using Dirty Electricity filters from SATIC Electricity or ShieldedHealing.com. Even with filters, solar panels may still pose EMF risks for sensitive individuals.
7. Appliances/Miscellaneous
- Microwave Ovens: When on, microwave ovens are the highest source of radiation in the home. They are easy to replace with a toaster oven. NEVER stand within six feet of one when on, and farther is ALWAYS better.
- Infrared Saunas: Heat to desired temperature; then turn off / unplug before getting inside! Use a traditional dry heat sauna instead when given the option.
- Ultrasound & Doppler: Use these devices with discretion during pregnancy. It is not always necessary to expose a developing body to these high frequency waves.
- “SMART” MEANS WIRELESS! Opt out of Smart technology whenever possible. Avoid supporting this industry altogether, and try to turn the wireless features off on the products you can’t avoid. You must check with your meter as you go since the wireless function cannot be disabled on many Smart devices. If this is the case, make sure to unplug these, get rid of them, or at the very least, keep them out of your bedroom and on a different circuit than your bedroom. The range of Smart products is ever growing: beds, RO water filter systems, thermostats, water heaters, TVs, refrigerators, heated floors, pools, hot tubs, workout equipment and more!
8. Electricity
What is Dirty Electricity?
Dirty Electricity is high-frequency voltage that generates radio frequency fields. It comes from:
Cell towers and the electrical grid
Faulty home wiring
Neighboring homes or poorly maintained utility lines
Home Placement & Furniture:
Avoid building or purchasing homes under power lines.
Keep beds, couches, and chairs away from outlets, switches, and lights.
Lighting:
Dimmer switches produce constant dirty electricity; replace with standard on/off switches.
Use non-dimmable, non-wireless light bulbs.
Replace fluorescent lighting, which has switched-mode power supplies that increase voltage frequency.
Electronics & Appliances:
Unplug devices when not in use: TVs, chargers, computers, power strips, hair dryers, fans, heaters.
Avoid using high-load appliances on bedroom circuits, especially for children.
Refrigerators, freezers, and other appliances contribute to dirty electricity even if not smart; unplug when possible.
Filters for Dirty Electricity:
Outlet Filters: Plug-in filters (e.g., Stetzer Electric) can reduce dirty electricity on individual devices or circuits. Avoid placing directly under or next to a bed. Bulk or individual options available.
Whole-House Filters: For homes with faulty wiring, a breaker-box filter like the Power Perfect Box (SATIC Electricity, Missoula, MT) is recommended. Consult with the manufacturer or Shielded Healing for the right modules based on home size.
Installation: Requires a licensed electrician.
Warranty: SATIC provides a 10-year warranty when installed professionally.
Effectiveness: Allow two weeks for the filter to normalize dirty electricity in your home.
Tips for Success:
Use a combination of outlet and whole-house filters for optimal results.
Regularly monitor EMF and dirty electricity levels with a meter to confirm effectiveness.
9. Extra Shielding
- Every EMF source you can’t remove or distance yourself from, BLOCK.
- You can create your own faraday cage, or protective shield, with conductive graphite shielding paint on the walls and screens over windows (available at LessEMF.com). If you are in an apartment in the city, this might be the best option for you. If taking this route, be careful of the “Resonance Phenomenon” (where the shielding actually radiates out a couple of feet; this occurs with grounding issues). You can protect yourself from this by testing with your meter as you go.
- ShieldedHealing.com offers an EMF assessment. This would be an ideal action step for someone who is serious about making big changes and wants professional guidance in doing so. This will keep you from having to go back and redo things that may have been done incorrectly. I am guilty of making what I thought were positive changes, only to later find out I completely missed the mark. Remember to take the time it takes, and it takes less time.
- If you don’t have guidance or an EMF assessment, try not to change everything all at once. Start with something small like utilizing Airplane mode around children and babies.
- Use strict caution with marketed “harmonizers.” A harmonizer is a product that claims to “neutralize” EMF waves. There are thousands of these on the market from necklaces and stickers to whole-house machines. I have not found any that actually work. They provide a false sense of security, and for this reason, are likely to cause more harm than good. Always test with your EMF meter before making ANY purchase.
10. Travel
Small Cell 5G Posts:
Avoid proximity to “Small Cell” 5G installations when possible; these are high-frequency sources often located on street poles and near homes.
Car Travel:
Cars are metal enclosures that reflect EMF waves:
Waves from outside the car are mostly reflected away.
Waves from inside the car (phones, GPS, smart features) bounce repeatedly, increasing exposure.
Safety tips:
Turn off all wireless devices while driving (phones, GPS, WiFi).
Educate passengers about limiting wireless usage.
Test any new car with an EMF meter before purchase, especially if it has Smart features or integrates your phone as a car key.
Planes:
Planes trap EMFs due to metal construction, making them extremely RF-polluted.
Limited options exist for protection while flying; reducing other stressors and considering temporary supplementation may help.
Travel Planning:
Use AntennaSearch.com to check antenna density around destinations, workplaces, or potential homes.
Be aware that one tower may host hundreds of antennas.
Adjust travel plans or accommodations to reduce exposure when possible.
Protective Gear:
Clothing and blankets from DefenderShield.com can reflect EMF waves away from the body.
Correct placement is critical: no devices should be between you and the shielding product, or exposure can increase.
Verified effectiveness using a TriField TF2 EMF meter.
11. Making a Difference
Education & Awareness:
Share EMF knowledge with friends, family, and co-workers; you don’t need to tell them what to do, just explain why certain precautions are taken in your home.
Advocate for Fiber-Optic alternatives to 5G in your community. Trusted voices have the greatest impact.
Big Picture Considerations:
Question the broader environmental and societal impacts of widespread microwave radiation:
Could it contribute to climate change?
How does it affect ecosystems, endangered species, plants, insects, and microbes?
Emphasize precaution due to limited understanding of long-term effects.
Practical Steps for Individuals:
Share resources, books, and articles on EMF safety.
Sign petitions to ban or limit 5G technology.
Consider your “votes” in daily life:
Purchases of smart devices or payments to telecom companies support the 5G industry.
Reduce usage of platforms like Amazon, Google, and Facebook to limit data collection and influence.
Use privacy-focused alternatives: DuckDuckGo, Etsy, eBay, and local shops.
Policy & Advocacy:
Educate policymakers and push for stricter cell tower regulations and EMF exposure limits.
While systemic change takes time, personal responsibility and informed choices in daily life can produce immediate effects.
Mindset:
Small, consistent actions can reclaim personal power and reduce exposure.
“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” – Dr. Wayne Dyer
“It is virtually impossible to achieve high levels of health in the 21st century unless you are addressing your EMF exposure.”
—Dr. Joseph Mercola
